This may be one of the most important of the Keys chemical-free products. Keys Solar Rx is featured on the Environmental Working Group Skin Deep Report as the #1 safest sunscreen on the market. Keys Solar Rx is featured as the most effective non-waterproof category sunblock for UVA and UVB in the Consumer Reports July issue. It is rare to find a product that is both safe to use and effective.

Keys Solar Rx carries a UVB (UV Burning) rating of SPF 30+ and a UVA (UV Aging) of four stars Maximum using the EU rating system. It is important to note that 90% of all visible skin aging comes from UVA. Be very careful of sunscreens with high SPF numbers that do not rate their UVA protection. High SPF rated chemical sunscreens will prevent burning, but often do little to provide UVA protection.

Solar Rx combines the healing soothing properties of Luminos moisturizer and adds a 16% concentration of uncoated nano-zinc oxide to provide a physical UVA & UVB blocking to protect against UV triggered Melanoma and Skin Cancer. Their nano-zinc oxide (ZnO) is uncoated to provide healing therapies associated with zinc oxide. The uncoated zinc has also proven to be anti-bacterial and antimicrobial and can reduce redness, rosacea, age spots and melasma.

Nano-Zinc Oxide is 10 times smaller than micronized zinc oxide and provides more even coverage to reflect UVA and UVB radiation. By blending the transparent Nano-Zinc Oxide with Keys' Luminos Lotion, you get a sunblock that is soothing, therapeutic and blocks harmful solar radiation. Best,it is chemical-free! A new ultrasonic blending technique makes Solar Rx smoother than ever before. Solar Rx is specially designed for the most sensitive skin, with the assurance of a high sun protection factor, to protect exposed skin. It is formulated without the high concentrations of photo reactive absorbing chemicals typical of most other sunscreens that can cause irritation and skin sensitivity reactions. This broad spectrum UVA and UVB blocking 30+ SPF formulation combines cosmetically clear transparent Nano Zinc Oxide (does NOT whiten the skin!) with therapeutic oils in a lightweight lotion. It may be worn over top of your favourite moisturizer, for those with who prefer additional moisture. Solar Rx wears beautifully under makeup as well.

All Keys lotions come in a special airless pump container, which eliminates wastage and keeps the oils fresh! The container is recyclable.

Not too pasty or difficult at all to apply. Gives you really good protection without the nasty chemicals. Zinc oxide is a natural mineral found in the earth and not a "chemical" as one of the other reviewers refers to. This is why the product claims to be chemical free - because it uses natural minerals to reflect light and block the sun.

The label and description of this product plainly state that it is chemical-free. Yet the description also goes on to say the primary ingredient is Zinc Oxide (ZnO). Which is a chemical. I'm sure this product does work in its intended purpose, as Zinc Oxide does have UV-Blocking effects, but it sickens me to see it labeled "Chemical-Free", feeding the "chemicals are inherently bad" mindset. Chemicals are not inherently bad. Sure, some are toxic and dangerous, but even things as harmless as water (H2O) and table salt (NaCl) are chemicals. Even your body is made up of thousands of different chemicals! So, don't hate on chemicals, they are literally what make up the world around us.
